First PTA Meeting 2003-2004
The first PTA meeting of the 2003-2004 school year was held on Tuesday, September 16 in the Pennekamp cafeteria. We heard from Co-President Diane Levitt who introduced our MBUSD board of trustees representative for the year, Tracey Windes (a former PKPTA President). Principal Dale Keldrauk introduced the entire Pennekamp faculty and staff. We thank all of them for attending our meeting!
1st V.P. of Fundraising Susan Warshaw, 2nd V.P's of Student Services Robin Cleland and Karen Wooldridge, and Debbie Zoppi, 3rd V.P. Operations gave short reports on their areas followed by a presentation of our Innisbrook fundraiser which runs from September 15 - 29 by Linda Richards.
Scrip chair Denise Ellis reminded everyone to purchase scrip and asked that all Ralph's cards be registered as they are moving to a paperless scrip system very shortly.
Recording Secretary Kathy Thorpe presented the minutes of the June PTA meeting for approval.
Treasurer Jeanne Keasler presented the 2003-2004 PTA budget which was unanimously approved by the membership. Financial Secretary Kathy Basmajian and Safety Officer Walt Young of the PTA Executive Board were also in attendance.

4th V.P's of Membership, Tami Brothers and Beth Allen presented information on PTA's largest fundraiser--our membership campaign. Forms are available on the PTA website as is the membership information brochure.
District Garden Coordinator Marika Bergsund demonstrated to parents how her monthly "produce tasting" sessions work. This month's session will feature sunflower seeds.
Thank you to everyone who attended. Our next PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 14th at 9:00am. Dr. Gwen Gross, MBUSD superintendent will be our featured guest.
