The 100th Day of School 2004
Friday, February 13th was the 100th day of school at Pennekamp!
Zero the Hero made a guest appearance at the kindergarten playground leaping the fence in a single bound!

1000 (and one!) origami cranes added to the festivities. Gail Hayes, Pennekamp technology specialist, coordinated this activity. 100 strings of 10 cranes each are hanging in the library. These were folded by Pennekamp students, parents, and staff.
All first and second graders were early dragons, and celebrated

the number 100 by drawing pictures of what they'll look like when

they turn 100 years old, coloring 100 square name quilts,

predicting what will happen if a die is rolled 100 times and a coin is flipped 100 times

and then performing the activity and tallying the results,
and writing a letter to someone special (containing the number 100) since after all, it was the day before Valentine's Day!

It was also Friday, the 13th!
