January PTA Meeting
MBUSD Budget Presentation

MBUSD Superintendent Dr. Gwen Gross once again joined us at a Pennekamp PTA meeting. She and Pennekamp PTA Presidents Cindy Ellenberg and Diane Levitt welcomed everyone to this very important PTA meeting. Minutes for this meeting are available on-line.
General PTA business was covered first. Diane Levitt announced that the new MBUSD Board of Trustees representative to Pennekamp is Board President Bill Cooper who was in attendance.
Pennekamp MBEF Representative Freddi Segal Gidan discussed the MBEF fundraising campaign which is currently in progress. Note that there will NOT be a second Vital Programs fundraiser this year so everyone was encouraged to give all they could at this time.
Principal Dale Keldrauk presented information on the Pennekamp safety program.
Dr.
Gross presented current MBUSD budget numbers to the assembled membership
including 
funding
and
facilities
information (both in PDF
format). She then answered questions submitted by the
audience.
Dr. Gross emphasized the need for community input on cost savings. If you have ideas, please use the Cost Savings Input form (available courtesy of the MBMS PTA) to submit your suggestion(s).

After the meeting, Principal Dale Keldrauk, MBUSD Director of Human Resources Janet Schwabe and Dr. Gross squeezed in a last few minutes of business to end a very long day.
