Richstone Feast 2003

Pennekamp's 10th Annual Richstone Feast benefiting the Richstone Family Center in Hawthorne was held on Thursday, November 20th.  The entire school is involved in preparations for this dinner which benefits the women and children of Richstone.  In the 10 years we have held this event, Pennekamp has raised over $24,000 for Richstone!

Dorothy Courteny, executive director of Richstone was in attendance and presented Pennekamp with a commemorative tile.

Mr. Warner, Ms. Courtney, Mr. Keldrauk and the 5th graders who served as the waiters for the evening pause just long enough for a group photo.

Our efficient 5th grade waiters were joined by Mr. Compton and Ms. Cathee in the cafeteria for the feast.  Note the beautiful Thanksgiving decor courtesy of the younger PK students!

Everyone in the PK family helps out.  Families donate all the food for the feast which this year consisted of chili, hotdogs, fritos, salad, beverages and ice cream for dessert. Parents serve as the preparation and clean up crew!

Families also donate fabulous prizes for the opportunity drawings held at the two seatings.  Mr. Warner, our wonderful master of ceremonies, called out lucky winners!

A huge thank you to chairs Mike Warner, Donna Barney, Sherry Kramer and Joanne Schnuckel for coordinating this event.  Also to Julie Jones and Theresa Tower for coordinating the chili contributions, the Gale family for the Ben & Jerry's ice cream, donation coordinator Barbara Siegemund-Broka and volunteer coordinator Libby Moyer.

Photos of families and friends who attended the 2003 feast are available.

Thank you to Jennifer Bandel, Tammy Choy, Taryn and Taylin Kamimoto and Linda Reinstein for these photos!
