iPads for Each MBMS Student?, May 21st On Monday, May 21st, from 6:30-8:30pm, Manhattan Beach Middle School is discussing iPads for Each MBMS Student for the next school year. The meeting is for the parents of 6th Grade students to learn about the 1:1 initiative for iPads for the 2012-2013 school year. The meeting will be held in the MBMS Multi-purpose room. Scholar Quiz Attention 5th grade parents: Want to get an insider's view of MBMS? Come watch Scholar Quiz! This high-speed academic competition (think Jeopardy at 100 mph) galvanizes the entire campus for seven days in the Spring each year. Join the lunch time fun (12:30 - 1:20) during the early rounds May 23rd and May 24th, or the finals on June 1st at 1:00 pm. It's a great way to get a feel for the Middle School. Questions? PACE Classes began last week. A big thank you to the parents that have already enrolled your child(ren) and for supporting the PACE Program. Enrollment is still open for Musical Theatre and The Little Mermaid. If your child likes being on stage or if they are shy, this is a good class that will break them out of their shell! Percussion Studio Concert, May 19th The Mira Costa Bands are performing a Percussion Studio Concert on Saturday, May 19th at 7:00pm in the Mira Costa Auditorium. Centennial Group Photo at MB Pier, May 20th On Sunday, May 20th at 12:00pm, bring your family and friends down to the Manhattan Beach Pier to be included in the Centennial Group Photo! Local photographer John Post is organizing this historic photo op in conjunction with the Manhattan Beach Historical Society. No charge to participate! The Jazz Concert, May 21st The Mira Costa Bands present the first ever all Jazz Concert on Monday, May 21st at 7:00pm in the Mira Costa Auditorium. All three Costa jazz bands will be performing.
